This native is one of the highly rated shade trees for the eastern US. Fast growing and tolerant of wet, dry and compacted soils. Soft green foliage and a nice pyramidal habit. Capable of living to be many centuries; the Chinese refer to this American native as "The Magic Tree" and they planting literally millions of them along their highways.
