Okay we admit it, we are suckers for a rare conifer. Nobody buys a Golden Larch in Georgia but after seeing one at the UGA trial gardens, we had to take it for a spin. Why get out of bed if we don’t want to have some fun? New spring foliage is a pretty blue-green with lighter tips, and is so soft you could dust fine furniture. Fall color is brilliant yellow in colder climes but in our zone 8 nursery, has not yet impressed. Our trees are trained with a central leader but in the landscape most tend to flatten and spread with time.
