Golden Rain Tree is used for summer color when you grow weary of lavender-pink variations found in crape myrtles. Koelreuteria is a tough tree, equally capable in highway medians and finished landscapes. As a young tree it can look awkward, goofy and coarsely branched (like many trees with compound leaves). But as time passes, it fills out to form a fully foliaged dome. The yellow flowering panicles are intensely colored, prominently displayed and effective even at a distance or in a large scaled landscape.
